Wine Advocate Review Rated 91 The 2012 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills is a rocking effort that represents a superb value. Offering up notions of rose petal, ripe cherries, raspberries, spice and even some forest floor, it's seamless, elegant and layered on the palate, with plenty of class. Aged 16 months in 20% new French oak and a blend of 5 different clones, it's an outstanding wine to drink over the coming 4-5 years.
Wine Tasting Notes Positively brimming with fruity aromatics and flavors, we find this wine (made from grapes from our certified organic estate vineyards) dominated by a mix of fresh crushed berries and dark cherries, shot through with a floral-spice element and a beet-root-meets-cola essence. The wine showcases the dark rich side of Pinot Noir and already has a supple smooth texture with clean acidity. We'd suggest roasts and grilled meats as accompaniments; barbeque shrimp with grits; pan-roasted salmon filets, etc!
