International Wine Cellar Review Rated 91 Opaque purple. Sexy, high-pitched aromas of dark berry preserves, Indian spices and violets, with a smoky topnote. Powerful but light on its feet, offering intense blackberry and bitter cherry flavors sweetened by a touch of vanilla. Shows impressive energy on the finish, which features lingering licorice and berry skin nuances. All of the fruits from Brokenwood's Graveyard vineyard are in this bottling.
Wine Tasting Notes Aromas of mocha are integrated with blackberry and savory Hunter Valley Shiraz fruit. A very good alcohol weight carries the rich flavors. The palate has vanillin and dark cherry flavors. Soft tannins and a dry finish round it out. The oak is forward at this stage but there is more than enough fruit to match it.
