Tastes rich and young right now, with jammy blackberry, cherry, licorice and pepper flavors that have been well-oaked, and that crisp Edna Valley acidity that makes the fruit shine. There's enough complexity in the texture and finish to make it feel important. Should hold for a couple of years, but it's not an ager.

Wine Tasting Notes
This deeply colored gem opens with smoky notes underlain with a complex and seamless perfume, which has notes of blackberry bramble, cocoa, and lavender. On the palate the integrity introduced by the aroma expresses itself in medium structure with dynamic tannins, sweet fruit and vanilla notes. Very high levels of vinosity are the sure hallmark of a reserve wine, this is only achieved by the most stringent lot and barrel selection, which makes our 1772 series.
