This is a new project from Argentina from the people in Santa Barbara that brought you Brewer Clifton. This is one heck of a Malbec. First off, it has no oak at all. The wine is deep opaque purple with one of the most distinctive noses of any Malbec that I have ever had. It has full rich developing aromas of earth, black plum, currant, and really ripe fruit. It almost smells like a Zinfandel, but in a good way. This is a full bodied wine with flavors of blackberry, earth, and dark cherry. The wine has big tannins, but they are really soft and mouthcoating, and the finish is really long. This wine reminds me of New Orleans, because its Big and so Easy to drink. If you are a California wine drinker, and have always wanted to get into South American wines, this is the wine for you. This would pair very well with a wide range of dishes such as roast lamb or Bar-B-Q ribs.
