Gnarly Head Old Vine Zinfandel makes a bold statement at first sip. Their quest for outstanding Zinfandel led them down a country road into the heart of Lodi, California revealing a sea of gnarled, 35-80 year-old vines pruned in a special, mop-topped way called "head trained". True gnarly heads, these old vines yield fewer grape clusters with smaller berries than trellised vines. These mighty little berries produce intense, bold wines that are deep in color with concentrated dark fruit flavors.
This Old Vine Zinfandel has a gnarly core of rich, dark berry flavors with layers of spice, plum, pepper and vanilla balanced by light hint of toasted oak. Break out a bottle Gnarly Old Vine Zin and pair with BBQ pork ribs, moms favorite Chili or steak fajitas.

Bought 6 bottles from a newsletter and I have to say I was pretty impressed with the 2010 Gnarly Head for the price. Well worth it.

I really like Zins from Lodi, and boy was the 2010 Gnarly head good. Under $10 too, how can you beat that?

At just under $10 this wine delivers, it won't knock your socks off, but it is a solid Zin with a lot of flavor and a good nose.

I read that the Gnarly Head Zin from Lodi got a 96 point score, at under $10 it's pretty hard to believe. I gave it a try anywaysand I was pretty amazed at how good it is. It's not the best Zin from Lodi, but it's very good for the price point.

I've been a fan of Zins from Lodi for quite some time now, I think they're still a hidden gem in the world of wine. I picked up a few bottles of the 2010 Gnarly Head Zin recently, it's a pretty amazing wine for the price. I'll definitely be back for more.
