Product DescriptionWine Spectator Review
Expressive smoky black raspberry aromas lead to well-structured, polished blackberry, grilled anise and beefy cracked pepper flavors. Drink now through 2025.
Wine Advocate Review
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Syrah Templeton Gap District gives up an earthy/meaty nose of charcuterie, black soil, truffles and herb-crusted beef with a core of baked berries and chocolate-covered cherries. The full-bodied palate delivers powerful and impactful berry preserves and savory layers, supported by ripe, rounded tannins and a lively lift on the long finish. Drink 2017-2033.
Wine Tasting Notes
The Austin Hope Syrah has a seductive purple-black core with a violet rim. Intense aromas of muddled blackberry, dried currant and creme de cassis combine with undertones of smoke, leather, Herbes de Provence and dried violets. The entry is dense yet vibrant with lush, dark fruit and sweet baking spices. The velvety tannins and lively acidity make for beautifully integrated and age-worthy wine.
