This is a solid and exciting wine with so much soul. Spices, walnuts, stones, dark fruit and dried-berry character. Full body, chewy tannins and a savory finish. A small-production wine from head-pruned vines. Drink or hold.

Bright, moderately saturated ruby-red. Musky, almost Syrah-like aromas of black raspberry, blackberry, graphite, spices and violet are complicated by subtle hints of chocolate, leather and game. Suave and fine-grained but at the same time high-pitched and tight, showing lovely tobacco leaf and herbal pungency and scintillating floral lift to its intense currant and black pepper flavors. As fresh and tightly coiled as this wine is, it's not hard or austere. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and subtle rising length. At once deeper and more refined than the Ultra Cabernet. Wine Tasting Notes
KAIKEN Cabernet Franc exhibits a deep ruby red color with pale and elegant purplish shades. The nose is complex with ripe red currant, fresh plums, and red pepper combined with spicy notes of black pepper and clover. Concentration and structure are well-balanced. In the mouth, we find freshness and acidity as well as minerality from high-altitude rocky soils. The long elegant finish displays red fruit and spicy aromas. This Cabernet Franc 2015 is ready to drink, though it has an aging potential of 10 years or more.
