Online Wine Delivery

Wine shopping is not always the easiest task. When you walk into a liquor store, there are usually countless options to consider.

People get overwhelmed by displays of new wines and top sellers even if they left home knowing the brand they want. Most likely, they end up choosing a new brand only to find out they don't like it.

They also face another headache of taking several glass bottles of wine home safely.

Fortunately, online liquor stores make wine shopping convenient and enjoyable. Wine delivery services save consumers the trouble of rushing to the nearest liquor store to stock up for an event and having to transport multiple bottles around.

Besides, now most online wine retailers have personalized algorithms that efficiently help shoppers discover new wine. They offer suggestions and recommendations that blend perfectly with customers' tastes and preferences.

What Are the Different Types of Wine?

If you are new to the world of wines, it is understandable if you are confused. The thousands of wines found out there can be a lot to consider for newbies.

Nonetheless, one must make a move and choose the best wine for them, even if they are new customers. The first step is to learn the different types of wines in the market.

Red Wines

Red wines are made from black grapes. They get their color from the skin of the grapes since they are not removed during fermentation. Red wine has a bitter and dry taste due to the high levels of tannins.

Some of the most popular red wines include Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Sangiovese, and more! Red wine pairs well with red meat dishes such as BBQ ribs, steak, bolognese pasta, game, pizza, and so on. It is recommended to store the wine at room temperature to prevent tannins from becoming bitter.

White Wines

White wines are made from black and white grapes. Unlike red wines, the grape skin is removed when fermenting. Only clear grape juices are extracted. The fresh, crisp flavors in white wine result from the grape's natural acids and few tannins.

White wine grape varietals include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, and more. Food that goes well with white wines include light dishes such as seafood, chicken dishes, cheese, fries, and salad. It is ideal to chill the wine to bring out the crisp flavors.

Rosé Wines

Rosé wine has a pink or orangish color derived from black grapes juices. Although the grapes are fermented with their skin at first, they only undergo the process for a few hours or until the desired color is attained and then the skins are removed. They also have low levels of tannins and a lightly sweet flavor.

Rosé wines are perfect for snacks and light dishes such as fish, fries, poultry, and fruits.

Sparkling Wines

Sparkling wines are bubbly due to the naturally occurring carbon dioxide during the fermentation process. The wine is made from black and white grapes and is perfect for light dishes such as cheese, shrimp, fruits, salad, and dessert.

Why Should You Buy Wine Online?

In today's digitized world, shopping online has become more and more popular. If you have not yet tried ordering your favorite bottle of wine online, here are reasons why you should consider it.

Original and Quality Brands

Do you know most shoppers prefer buying online as opposed to in-person at local stores?

The shift is simply because online stores stock quality brands and make it easier to find out more about certain bottles and winemakers on their website. Before buying from online retailers, the first thing shoppers do is rush to the review section. Here, they can read other customers' experiences with the product.

If for any reason retailers decide to stock low-quality brands, a dissatisfied customer will leave a negative comment.

The last thing an online vendor needs are bad reviews from customers, whether it's about a specific wine, their service, their checkout process, etc. Online wine stores strive to deliver original and quality brands from around the world for growth and customer satisfaction.

Convenience

Purchasing wine online offers convenience shoppers never get from local stores. Online wine retailers are open 24/7, and customers are free to order even in the wee hours of the night. With just a button click, they get to purchase from the comfort of their homes.

Economical

Online wine stores quote different prices for the same product. However, they try to be competitive by offering the most affordable prices. You will likely enjoy lower prices online than in a local store.

Additionally, online wine stores offer attractive discounts, special promotions, and deals for buying in bulk, like six bottles or more. Customers are advised to be on the lookout and make an order once the prices are slashed.

Most online wine stores also offer free delivery services to customers within their geographical area. Clicking on the order button means saving transportation costs.

Doorstep Delivery

Online shopping has been a lifesaver for people, especially those with tight schedules. Having tons of work at the office or a busy social life does not hinder wine lovers from being able to enjoy a drink once they get home. With doorstep delivery, you could have four bottles of wine shipped to your door so you have access to a stock of wine at home all the time.

Saves Time

Once you order wine online, you will save the time you would have spent driving to the liquor store and having to search through aisles for your favorite. You can just search online using your browser on whatever device, choose the bottle or bottles you want, go through online checkout, and then wait for the wine to be brought right to your door. It's quick and easy to do while watching TV or winding down after a long day.

How Do You Order Wine for Home Delivery?

Wineries made $3 billion in 2018 in wine shipments in the US alone. The figures show the multi-million dollars industry is growing steadily. But how do you join the bandwagon? Here are the steps you should take.

Know What You Want

Knowing what you want makes it quicker when ordering wine online. It is not always fun for first-timers, but the task can be more straightforward if they ask the right questions:

  • Which type of wine do I want? Do I need a bottle of sparkling, rosé, red or white wine? Do I prefer natural wines? Do I want to try fortified wine or dessert wine?

  • What about the price? Should I choose high-end wines, mid-priced wine, or lower-priced table wine?

  • What quantity do I want? A few bottles, a case of six bottles, or several cases?

  • Any particular wine varietal or region I would want to try? Cabernet Sauvignon from California, Pinot Noir from France, or Shiraz from Australia?

Find an Online Wine Retailer

Finding an online retailer who serves your area is a great way to reduce delivery fees and ensure quick delivery. Liquorama has a large selection of wine, plus beer and spirits, and is ready to ship to your house in a timely manner. You just have to create an account and place an order.

How Much Does It Cost to Ship Wine?

Many factors affect wine prices. Whether you order from the world's largest wine store online or a local retail store, these factors apply across the board for wine delivery services.

Distance

How far the wine has to travel affects the actual shipping costs. It will cost relatively lower to ship wine in state as opposed to across state lines.

Additionally, deliveries in a rural area may cost more due to road status, distance, and fuel consumption. The longer the distance, the higher the wine delivery fee.

Delivery Address

Interestingly, shipping wine to a business or home address affects the shipping costs. Some carriers charge more for delivering a wine package to a residential address.

The logic is that the delivery to a business will most likely reach its destination on time compared to a residential address. For instance, the delivery personnel will time delivery to be during business hours, drop the package, get the signature, and leave.

On the other hand, it can take time to trace a residential address, and sometimes when the delivery personnel does, they find nobody home.

To mitigate the costs, most online stores and wine clubs pass the cost of delivering and time wasted on to the consumer.

Shipment Size

Most shippers charge based on weight if a box exceeds a specific size. The cost for two bottles is likely to be different than the cost for 12 of them.

Usually, wine clubs offer free shipment on the best deals or according to the delivery frequency.

Why Should You Join a Wine Club?

A wine club is a feature of modern wine culture that provides wine enthusiasts with a series of bottled wines at a great price. The deliveries are done monthly, quarterly, or according to a member's wine subscription.

Here are reasons why you should become a member:

Delicious Wine Choices

A wine club sends new and uncommon wines frequently. They might look at your profile, the taste you like, your preferences, and the flavors you like and then suggest the most suitable wines for you. New members will love trying different wine varietals and moving beyond their go-to Cabernet Sauvignon.

If you have an unlimited wine budget, a wine club will help you include a variety of wines in your inventory without the stress of having to shop around or doing much research.

Quality Wine

Wine clubs sort through an array of wines and handpick a few to suit their members. They know how a quality wine should smell and taste, something you might miss if you are a newbie.

Discounted Prices

Most wine clubs provide free shipping and attractive discounts for a certain number of bottles purchased. They also have great sale offers during specific times of the year, saving members a few dollars.
